In the Romanian schools, as in other school units, other institutions in the partner associations - the phenomenon of bullying has an increasing incidence, the danger coming from its false impression of normality, most people accepting it as a common component of everyday life. In the activities carried out by AGES in schools and high schools, we have always been hit by a violent component of the relationships between young people, manifested in threats, confusions, bullying, reaching blows when adults were not careful. I spoke with a teacher who observed an increase in the violent phenomenon, intimidation of the weakest. Intimidation / threat is an aggressive, systematic and continuous attempt, in order to undermine and hurt someone, based on perceived weaknesses.

The effects on the victim are often emotionally and behaviorally devastating. In the study "Bullying among children. A sociological study at national level "(2016), carried out by Ciprian Gradinariu, Mihaela Manole, Diana Stanculeanu, shows that 19% of the children stated that they humiliated another child, 30% that they easily hit a colleague or another person of age similar and 16% that they beat another child. On the other hand, 24% of children say they were humiliated or shamed in the group equals 32% as being pushed or beaten by other children, 39% as being slightly injured and 16% being beaten. At the Dimitrie Ghika Technical College in Comanesti, where 21 of the volunteers of the association learn, violent phenomena frequently occur, some even reaching the national average - https://bit.ly/2V0lZsc.

Bullying can make the school a place to be feared, while it should provide students with an environment where they can feel safe.

Together with the project partners we designed a questionnaire on bulliyng topics with 10 basic questions. At our association, 85 questionnaires were applied, and 72 participants (aged between 14 and 30 years), ie 84.7% consider the phenomenon bulliyng is not sufficiently discussed in schools / associations / media, and 39 of the respondents - 45.88% - admit that they were witnesses or victims of bullying.

In discussing with the project coordinators during the meetings, we tried to see to what extent we managed to bring the seriousness of the phenomenon of bullying in front of young people.

All the organizations involved in the project work with young people at risk, with young people belonging to minority groups.

At the level of partner organizations we have identified for young people in organizations:
1. a low level of knowledge related to bullying
2. a low level of knowledge regarding the connection between bullying and inclusion (of any type - social, religious, economic, race, etc.)
3. lack of reaction to bullying manifestations

In this project we propose that young people:
1. to know the manifestations of the bullying phenomenon
2. to identify the categories of persons susceptible to bullying
3. to acquire the skills needed to handle bullying situations
4. to show empathy towards the victims of bullying
5. to develop creative skills for presenting and combating this phenomenon

1. increase of the level of knowledge regarding the phenomenon of bullying for 49 young people 14-30 years (coordinated by 7 leaders) from Croatia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine, over a period of 12 days
2. awareness of the need to react in the presence of a bullying situation for 49 young people 14-30 years (and 7 leaders) from the 7 countries, for 12 days
3. increasing the degree of creative expression for the young participants in the project through forum theater activities

The project proposes 2 activities:

A1-advance planning visit attended by the 7 leaders of the national groups involved in the project, for 2 days. To be selected as a group leader, the person must meet the following conditions:
- is over 18 years old
- has advanced knowledge of English
- participated in non-formal activities
- has organizational qualities
- has knowledge of conflict management
- Has first aid knowledge

The group leaders can be selected from the youth workers or they can be persons with relevant experience in the association, in order to help the participants with reduced opportunities to develop their skills, but also to be able to monitor the young participants in the period following the completion of the exchange. young people.

A2 - exchange of young people We have decided to address young people between 14 and 30 years old who have reduced opportunities, because violent manifestations occur at an early age and as young people become more aware of the importance of preventing and combating the phenomenon they will be safer in the school environment. On the other hand, young people who have reached the age of schooling can share from their personal experiences related to bulliyng, how they have overcome these manifestations or how they would proceed to prevent such manifestations.

The profile of the ideal participant is:
-age between 14 and 30 years
-falls in the category of disadvantaged people -economic, geographical, social, ethnic
-interested in developing knowledge about integration and bullying
-expressed interest in the project theme
-available throughout the project period
-has minimal knowledge of English
-has the availability to share the experience from the exchange activity to the return to the sending organization.

Travel expenses (upon presentation of the relevant documents), food and accomodation will be covered by the Erasmus+ Programme. For the travel expenses, reimbursement will be provided according to the kilometric distance between the place of the organization and the city at which the training course is held.

Erasmus+ KA1 Youth Exchanges Programme

The participant organizations are from Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria and Poland. Seeing the need of intercultural exchanges and dialogue among youngsters coming from these countries, project partners designed the proposed project together.
The main objectives of the project are:
• to create intercultural environment and enhance tolerance and empathy, to show that cultural differences are an advantage rather than a disadvantage.
• to accept cultural differences and enhance understanding of each other’s culture.

The project will attain manifold aims such as: promotion of intercultural exchanges and diversity, values of democracy, tolerance and respect of human rights. We plan to steer debates about the most pressing social issues and the role of youth in addressing intercultural learning and social inclusion of people with fewer opportunities. Moreover, the initiative will give new ideas on how youngsters can engage more actively in social life.

Participants will have wider perspectives on youth activism and exchange understanding of their role in intercultural society. By doing so, we will have more ideas to suggest to local stakeholders regarding the development of particular issues addressed during the project, which will have added value not only for the community where the exchange is held, but for the communities where participants come from too. Besides, we will improve understanding on how to establish intercultural relations, debate and discuss ambivalent issues in an international setting.
Meantime, we will improve soft skills such as communication, self-performance and presentation skills. The project gives equal opportunities to every young person to participate in the action with special emphasis on the needs of youth with fewer opportunities. The composition of the participants will be diverse as they will come from very distinct cultural, national, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Various methods such as icebreaker games, group and individual work, brainstorming sessions, sticker, power and name games are included in daily agenda. During these activities, we enhance multiple skills and approaches. Additionally, reflection sessions will be used to track record on development and exchange ideas on the project and how it can be improved.

The expected background of participants is youth 18 to 30 years old with interest in learning about other cultures. Younger participants will be also welcomed, but not let than 16 years old.

Each team will be composed of 9 participants and 2 Group Leaders (in total 44 participants). The Leaders of the national groups must have experience in being a leader in youth exchanges or youth work.

Participants should be able to communicate on English language at the sufficient level (you will need to communicate a lot in English language during the sessions and do presentations during the mobility, so it is not possible to participate with zero knowledge of English language).

We expect that all participants will take part in all activities. In the case of unauthorized absence from activities and workshops we will not reimburse your travel costs and you are at risk of being sent home.
